I created this site several years ago in an attempt to actually make a portfolio. I often get requests for freelance web design or social media work, but never had a place of my own to show for it. So that’s what this site was…until I bought ashleigh.me and put all of my work there.
I always wanted a place to share random thoughts. Twitter is good for the excerpt version of such, but sometimes I’d want to elaborate. When I was interviewing for jobs fresh out of undergrad, I encountered a woman that told me to create a blog. About anything. Just to show that I have blogging experience. Many years after she said that, I created unchose.com, a magazine blog for young, Black women. But unchose isn’t a personal space for me. I can’t just talk about my day there. It doesn’t fit.
So here we are. My impersonal personal blog because I don’t believe in getting too deep on the Internet. I do believe in sharing random experiences and thoughts that I just deem necessary. Maybe I’ll have a moment at work I want to share. Or I will read something I want to provide feedback on. Or maybe I might want to list the best Whitney Houston songs of all time (to me) because I want to. You get it. Take this as a glimpse into me and my personality.
