It’s been a while. I am so sorry. Life has been… life, but that’s expected, right? I promise to do better because my drafts and Evernote are full of more post ideas that I’m just eager to push out. But before all of that, I must explain why I’ve been gone for a while. I feel like I need to share why I’ve been MIA.
I’ve been working on a campaign.
Yea, I was tasked to aid in the web and graphic design for a local police captain that is running for sheriff. A coworker reached out to me and I’ve been helping out ever since. So far, I’ve designed the website, logo, event invitations, yard sign, bumper sticker, and business cards.
I started working as a part-time social media manager for a jewelry company.
I joined the Drukker Designs family in October. Drukker Designs is a Russian/Ukranian-based jewelry retailer that is pursuing more of a presence in the United States. In this role, I’ve created the content strategy, audience analysis, and competitors analysis as well as manage the day-to-day postings on their accounts. So when I get home from work, I go back to work. But I thoroughly enjoy it.
I went through a break up.
Yea, it happens. And I’m fine with it. Life moves on.
I traveled to Chicago.
I joined Tinder.
After hearing so much about the app, I decided to download it. And it hasn’t been that bad so far, but that might be due to my ability to dodge the scum by paying attention to trigger pictures and phrases. So we’ll see what happens.
I rebranded unchose.
unchose is now a relationship-focused blog that details the struggles, self-examinations, and epiphanies that come with being a single, Black woman. As a newly single, Black woman, I look forward to being extremely vulnerable and open in hopes that others can learn or relate to my experiences. I’m also looking forward to this becoming a vehicle for others to share their perspectives and experiences too.
So that’s it. There are a few more things stirring in the pot but I don’t want to turn the stove off before the food is ready if you get my drift. I’m preparing myself for a successful and productive 2016. And I can’t wait to keep sharing these moments with you.
Until next time, xo.
